Butterscotch Sauce
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- .6 cup tightly packed brown sugar
- .5 cup heavy whipping cream
- .6 Tbsp vanilla
- .6 tsp salt
Instructions
- Melt butter almost completely.
- Add sugar. Stir until all sugar is wet.
- Stir infrequently. Sugar will melt and consistency will change into molten lava.
- Wait until the liquid looks grainy to add the cream.
- Lower heat and whisk cream in.
- Turn heat back up whisk every few minutes for 10 min.
- Turn heat off and let sauce rest before storing in heatproof container.
- Whisk in half the vanilla and salt and add more to taste.
